This Old Oaks Trio performance felt like capturing a story being told by a fire. The focus was on acoustic honesty, allowing the raw, narrative power of the lyrics and the character of wooden instruments to connect directly with every listener.
Creative Approach
The philosophy was warmth and organic truth. I used an EV RE-320 on the upright bass for its natural, woody character and an SM57 on the acoustic guitar, seeking its honest mid-range. The lead vocal was treated with the lightest touch, ensuring its emotional texture and the story it told remained the primary focus of the entire mix.
