Pat McCurdy
This was the ultimate test of "less is more." With no music to hide behind, the entire success of the show rested on the integrity and absolute clarity of a single signal path.
Creative Approach
The singular objective was maximizing the signal-to-noise ratio for the spoken word. The system was optimized for one Shure SM58. Before the show, I mapped the room's acoustic nodes and used the M32 to implement precise, narrow-Q notch filters, eliminating feedback frequencies before they could manifest. The only other processing was a gentle compressor acting as a consistency algorithm.
