This Two Jackets performance was a fantastic study in controlled force. The central challenge was sculpting an audible space for every note within a dense wall of sound, ensuring overwhelming power was matched with surgical clarity.
My model for this mix involved layering microphone data. A Shure Beta 91a inside the kick provided the high-frequency attack data, which I phase-aligned with the low-end weight from a Sennheiser e602-II. This data-driven approach to the rhythm foundation allowed the heavily saturated guitars to be both massive and articulate.
Delivered a crushingly heavy mix where every guitar riff and drum fill remained distinct.
Forged a cohesive low-end by phase-aligning kick drum data streams.
Maintained vocal supremacy, ensuring the voice cut through the most complex passages.
