Caravan
This event was a vibrant tour of the globe, featuring a diverse lineup of musical traditions. The ultimate challenge was adaptability: to provide excellent, culturally sensitive sound for a wide range of unfamiliar instruments and musical styles, one after another.
Creative Approach
My strategy was based on prepared flexibility. I used scene memory to create several basic templates for spoken word, acoustic ensembles, playback, and standard band setups. For unfamiliar instruments, I started with a flat EQ and a sensitive condenser, making only small, respectful adjustments to enhance what was already there.
