The challenge here was immense: to channel the power of sixteen musicians into a single, cohesive, and explosive sound. It required a system-level view to manage the complexity and unleash the ensemble's vibrant energy.
The mix was structured sectionally. I used the warm response of MD-421s to give the brass section its weight and authority, while spot-miking soloists to ensure they could soar above the dense harmonic landscape. Every channel was meticulously gain-staged and filtered on the M32 to create a clean, powerful, and unified sound that was bigger than the sum of its parts.
Transformed sixteen individual sources into one massive, unified sonic force.
Ensured key instrumental solos cut through the powerful ensemble with clarity and impact.
Captured the explosive energy of the full band with exceptional headroom and control.
